Statesboro Alumnae Chapter History
The
Statesboro Area Alumnae group was born in the summer of 2003. Jerry Singletary,
believing the formation of such a group would be possible and profitable to the
surrounding area of musical populous, sent out letters to those she thought
might be interested and the resulting group met for successive monthly meetings
until June 12, 2004. On this date, twenty sisters from various surrounding cities
came together at Georgia Southern University to be installed as an official
chapter. On June 19, three more were inducted into the chapter for a charter
membership of 23. National Vice President Shelby MacFarlane, Executive Director
Ruth Sieber Johnson and Province Officer Kathryn M. Snelson installed the
chapter.
